Below you can find a simple pattern of prayer for morning, mid-day and evening. Each can take just a minute or two out of your busy day or you can make more time for prayer and silence around the words provided.
Join us in prayer and see how these brief moments can enrich your day and your life.
You can listen to these recordings or use the text below.
In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait in expectation.
(Psalm 5:3)
God of opportunity and purpose,
this day, may I be ready,
to see you in the world and those I meet,
to hear you in the voices of friend and stranger,
to feel you in wind and rain and the warmth of the sun,
to recognise you as you pass by or sit with me
and share joy and sorrow.
May I have the courage to take each opportunity you place in my hands
to serve you and love you in all people,
and may I know your purpose this day,
that in all things I may find life, and live it to the full;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Pause for a moment of stillness and silence and hold people, places and issues on your heart before God
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever. Amen.
Holy Spirit, walk with me through this day,
And lead me to life everlasting.
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Psalm 37 5-6)
Lord of comfort and grace,
In the midst of this day, draw me back to yourself.
In the busyness and activity, may your stillness be at my centre.
In the noise and clamour, may your silence gently whisper.
In the stress and anxiety, may your peace be all pervading.
In the brokenness and unrest around me, may your healing Spirit
be at work.
May I know your comfort this day,
That I may be a comfort to others
and a means of your grace;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

O LORD, I call to you; come quickly to me.
Hear my voice when I call to you.
May my prayer be set before you like incense;
may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.
(Psalm 141:1-2)
Lord of rest and renewal,
I thank you for this day.
For its joy and sorrow.
For its successes and failures.
For its peace and turmoil,
For its fulfilment and struggles.
May I rest in your abiding love and grace this night,
that, renewed and strengthened, I may rise to serve you again
as the new day dawns
and your kingdom comes ever closer;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Way of Life Thy Kingdom Come Prayer Journeying
Prayer Journeying, or prayer walking, as it is often called, takes us out of our church buildings and onto our streets, parks and estates. It involves praying in and for our neighbourhoods by having a conversation with God about what we notice as we journey. It is a prayer of our whole being. Our prayer my involve words, thoughts or feelings in our hearts as we converse with God.
